Kristi was the winning bidder for a family session I donated for this year’s giving campaign. 100% of her generous donation benefited United Way of King County. Kristi, thank you for your generosity! It was a pleasure to take pictures for your gorgeous family! Having little experience in family portraits, I allocated 2 hours for the session. It turned out that we spent a whopping 40 minutes together before the kids were ready to fall asleep :)

Meet Kristi’s beautiful family

About a month ago, I rented a bunch of lighting equipment and setup a high key studio shoot at home. I had 3 Profoto studio lights. 2 for the background and 1 key light for the subject. A white wall on the side of the subject served as bouncing reflector. It was a simple setup. The hardest part was actually working with the young models. Some of them cannot yet communicate but can run, especially towards the camera. My most photogenic model was Kevin (in red). Peter (in blue) and Ella (the little girl in a cute dot hoodie) have also been great troopers for sitting still for some pictures. They are all super adorable!

The shoot was a great success. The parents love the pictures!
